I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come from?
The words of psalm 121 came to me as I received and read a friend's testimony, which I promised I was going to share on my blog. This was meant to have been published last month, but I had some issues with my blog and promised to share it this month.
Testimonies are indeed sweet to share especially on here at Sophs inspirations lol. I was really encouraged by Tessy's testimony and I hope it would also be a source of encouragement to you as you read.
I was already several months behind on my apartment rent, and had been issued an eviction notice by the landlord. After going to court to address the issue, I received a 7 day notice in which I had to pay the back rent plus the one which was already due.
I called, emailed, and sent text messages to friends and families asking to borrow the money but no one could help. Almost every one I knew did not have that kind of money available. Though, they really did want to help but they just couldn't. I also had three different pending business deals, all of which fell apart. Leaving me with no hopes of raising the money.
The 7th day came and I still did not have the money. I asked the landlord if I could have extra time to pay since the deadline fell on the weekend and nothing much could happen. The deadline was then extended till the following Tuesday and that was the best he could do.
On that same evening, I spoke to a friend who shared his testimony with me regarding a similar situation. He told me how he was faced with very severe financial crisis, so severe that he had resigned to the streets as a hawker. His bills had pilled up to the highest and there was no hope for a break through before his dead end comes. Along with his wife, they decided to pray and sow all they had left in the church. A few days after that, shortly before their dead end came, Someone blessed them with the exact amount they needed at that point in time.
I thought about what my friend told me and I know it sounds crazy to give away all you have when you know you are in serious need to solve a problem. But I prayed about it and asked God to lead me. The following Sunday, I went to church having all I had left. Although I was scared but I decided to trust God and as an act of faith, I gave all I had and resulted to broke-ness. I remained confident and refused disclosing the "foolishness" I had just done. With numerous thoughts in my head and heavy feelings in my heart, I decided to force myself to sleep.
The following Monday morning, I woke up to an alert of 3.5 million naira. My account had been credited from one of the business deals I had long given up on. It had finally clicked!!!!! I knew it could only have been God. I was filled with so much thanks and praise. Behind the scenes, God had been working on my behalf and I was clueless.
I was able to confidently pay my bills right on time (the last hour) and my faith was significantly boosted.
I just want to really thank God for his goodness and grace and also encourage anyone who may be passing through trying times. Never take your eyes of God. He is the ultimate helper, the God of the 99th hour. He Never fails. Even in our foolishness, he favours us. He has indeed been my helper, my shield, my strength, my hope and my every thing. Always always look up to him.
I hope this was a blessing to you cause it definitely was to me. Never loose focus on God. Always keep your eyes glued to the hills for SURELY, your help will come.
Have a favour flooded week. :)
