HOW I ROCKED MY DENIM DRESS!!

Thursday, 25 February 2016

Hey guys,

So I noticed that, the blog gets more veiws each time I put up a post full of pictures..especially that of myself lol..

I'm not one to be really into trends and fashion, but I do love taking pictures, especially when I feel like I put in some effort into getting my acts essembles and make up together.

In light of this, I decided to share a few pictures showing how I rocked my denim dress on Sunday.

I don't know why, but my sudden love for denim is becoming a bit awkward. I dont understand the sudden crave popping out from no where. I guess its because of it's uniqueness, durability, colours and shades, plus the fact that, you can pretty much do anything with it.

I  particularly love this shade of denim because you can use different colours on it and they would still blend in perfectly.

For me, I just decided to keep it really simple.

I'm sure there are better ways to rock a denim dress but this was how I rocked mine. What are your thoughts?

IF WISHES WERE HORSES!!!

Monday, 22 February 2016

Hey guys,

I hope the week started off great? I did have one of the most beautiful weekends last week, and as much as I'd like to gist you guys, I'd rather save it for later. Or better still, talk about something different today.

So I wrote a poem a few weeks back, but I had no tittle for it. Two days ago, I stumbled on this picture amongst the ones I took on my day out to the park, and it inspired the tittle of this post. I hope you enjoy it. Please also let me know what you think.

If wishes were horses,
I'd have the best stories,
Some of those fairy.....
Tales with a happy ending.

If wishes were horses,
The moon would be blue
Then I'd find me a boo..
With just the perfect bloom

If wishes were horses,
There would be no pain
And the world would be,
Just a better place.

If wishes were horses
I'd give some pennies
In exchange for the worries
Or a sudden burry..

But wishes aren't horses.
So tales aren't fairy,
Happy endings do happen
But once in a blue moon.

But wishes aren't horses
So pain would be in cursive
life would be no bed..
Certainly not of roses

But wishes aren't horses
So worries have no boundaries
A penny can get you berries
But certainly not the merry.

LIFE ON THE TRACKS!!!

Saturday, 20 February 2016

Hey guys,

Its been a while I must say. These days, all I keep asking my self is 'Where did my childhood go'? Honestly, I'm not about this adult life:- new day, new challenges and responsibilities. To make matters worse, the economy isn't even helping lol.

I don't know if it's just me but everyone seems to be facing difficult times right now in one way or another, and the road to recovery is long- very long, feeling longer everyday. You keep striving to move forward, but the path seems endless. The farther you go, the more it looks like the journey is stretching out longer ahead of you. Every time you think you've caught a break, something new comes along to challenge your progress.

You know how it is. Just when you get a bit of money saved, your car breaks down, an eye needs a laser surgery, a tooth needs a root canal, your roof starts to leak, costing pretty much what you've saved.

You get a raise at work and praise at your annual review, then three months later, get laid off because you are a drain on the payroll budget.

Maybe its even more deverstating, you and your children are evicted, you loose your health, a loved one.

Whether its something major that knocks the wind out of your spirit, or dozens of small things that pile on, crushing you under the weight of worry and strife, your energy is gone, your strength gone, your resolve shaken. You just want to sit down and rest physically, emotionally and spiritually. You may not feel as if you're moving forward, but, like the earth that continues to turn in its axis without your feeling it, life is moving on and so must we.

In light of this, here are some quotes to keep you going.

  • Dont give up trying to find your way. But remember, sometimes it takes bending to avoid breaking.

  • Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

  • Dont go where the road leads rather, go where there is no road and leave a trail

  • Its never too late to be what you might have been

  • If your train of thought is going no where, switchtracks

  • A bend in the road is not the end of the road except you fail to make the turn.
  • Follow your dreams, they know the way.

The most beautiful people I’ve known are those who have known trials, have known struggles, have known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. No matter what you go through on the track of life, stay strong and never give up. Remember, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Have a great weekend.

JOHN THREE SIXTEEN!!!!!

Saturday, 13 February 2016

I dont know about you, but I sure as hell love the Valentine season, especially because, it is a season of love. In light of this, I thought it would be the perfect time to share a story I stumbled upon a few weeks ago. I hope it enlightens your mind on the true definition of love as we celebrate the season.

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner street, where the people were going in and out of the cold. The little boy was so cold himself that he wasn't really trying to sell many papers.
He walked up to a policeman nearby and said, "Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you? You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there for tonight. Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay."
The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door... you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in."
So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16." The lady said, "Come on in, Son." She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off. The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself: John 3:16.  I don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.
Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry?"
He said, "Well, just a little. I haven't eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food," The lady took him in the kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't eat any more. Then he thought to himself... John 3:16... Boy, I sure don't understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full.
She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought to himself: John 3:16... I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out.
The lady came in and got him. She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16... I don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested.
The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible.
She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. "Do you understand John 3:16?" she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it." She opened the Bible to John 3:16, and began to explain to him about Jesus.
You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the end. I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -- John 3:16

MY TESTIMONY: I SURVIVED!!!

Monday, 8 February 2016

Earlier this year, I asked God for a testimony(ies) and he gave me one.

Yesterday was a day I saw my life before my eyes, a day I knew what it felt like to have ones heart in her mouth, a day I experienced darkness and light at the same time, a day my father came through for me in the most miraculous way. It was my 'near death experience' day.

I had dismissed from church and was headed for a photoshoot session with my friends Susan and Emeka, when we found ourselves on a one way narrow road. We had driven quite a distance, and had kept to the left end of the road for the most part of the drive while a similar sized car had been driving on the right end of the road. Suddenly, a jeep surfaced behind us, and manueovered its way to the middle of both cars, in attempts to overtake. Having seen the danger, we tried to avoid it by swerving a little towards the left where there was a steep ditch, in hopes that he would adjust and find a balance but the reverse was the case. He lost his balance and swerved speedily into us. Before we knew it, the car began to spin and spin and spin...and all I could hear were driftings and screechings from the breaks of the cars. In that moment, I had lost sight of my environment, as all I could see was dust. I had lost my mind to panic and fear, that all I could utter was 'Jesus!!!' as we kept spinning. I had imagined another car running into us or falling into the steep ditch. I thought about my life, my family.. I remembered my late friend who passed in a similar way as I sobbed and screamed. Miraculously, it finally came to a stop and we found ourselves on the other side of the road, with no injuries at all.

I wept because I knew that was clearly God.

God's love is like an ocean. You can see the beginning but certainly not the end. He loves us endlessly. I'm indeed thankful for his grace, his mercies, love and protection over my life and that of my friends. I'm thankful that I can say:..I survived!!.

ON MELTING AND BONDING!!!

Wednesday, 27 January 2016

Ever noticed something about tough materials? Sometimes they've got to melt in other to bond with other materials.

I was walking down my estate with a neighbour of mine when we got into quite an interesting conversation. She told a story about a mutual friend of ours, who's presently married, but had consequtively experienced a few bad relationships in the past, as a result of her constant hesitation in giving her best to a relationship. She stated that for everyone she met, she'ld hold back a lot, fight all feelings and emotions, even when deep down, she had a strong urge to express her self. She believed in the mentallity that showing someone how much you care about them or love them, gives them the opportunity to take advantage of you.

One day, she met a man who really swept her off her feet, who genuienly cared about everything that concerned her and more. A man who showed love in the way he looked at her, held her hands, spoke to her and about her. But again, she held back alot, faught all feelings and hid all emotions, for fear that if he ever found out how much she loved him in return, he might take advantage of her love. As a result, she expressed no feelings, payed no compliments, acted like nothing was bothering her even when she was mad or upset about something as it made her seem tough and strong on the outside. Over time, pride crept into the relationship and resulted in a very bad break up.

When asked why she always had a problem with relationships, even when all she'd been trying to do was guard her heart jealously as the bible would say, her aunt explained that relationships are like chemical bonds between two materials. When a though material is melted and joined to another material, the bond formed, is not as strong as both materials melted on each end and joined together.

Love can never be built on a 'one way' street. Sometimes we love to be though in relationships, we hold back a lot; feelings, emotions, affections...you name it!. It's great to "protect" yourself from others definitely, however, when you find someone that truely loves you, its okay to show them love in return, pay compliments when you feel like it, be the first to call, speak when you are upset or sad about an issue, its okay to look within yourself and realise you have no control of the situation and in need of someone's help. It is righteous to say sorry when you know you have hurt the other person or have been wrongful towards them. That way, you have a stronger bond, an effortless relationship, a drama free and pride deficient relationship.

#You've got to melt in other to bond.

Please bare With me on my analogies.. It helps me get through life :D

Enjoy the rest if your week.

THE REASONS BEHIND MY SMILE!!!!

Monday, 18 January 2016

Someone once said to me that ; 'the only thing I notice about you, is your smile'. As a matter of fact, that statement has been a constant chant to my ears and as much as I'm unsure if that should be taken as a compliment, I'd like to simply take it as one lol.

Smiling is one thing I find hard to control..it comes almost always and all the time..plus, it gets very contagious, you might never be able to contain it.
